What is Bliss Yoga?

Jessica's Yoga classes are a gentle flowing style of postures (asana).  Each class focus' on the breath where each class spends time on drawing awareness to the breath to calm and nourish the mind and body (Pranayama).  After warming and easing the body the class moves into standing, siting and lying postures to stretch and strengthen the body. Each class then closes with a relaxation, this can be meditation, visualisation or a Yogic Sleep (Yoga Nidra).  Each session focus' on the individual where you can work within your own limits and therefore are accessible to all.

"As a busy mum of two Yoga is an integral part of my life and helps me to focus and calm my mind.  I really feel the need to take time out of my busy day, even if it is for 5 minutes to breathe and relax. Especially at the moment with my new baby Yoga Nidra (Yogic sleep/relaxation) before bedtime helps me to recharge by batteries I really feel that Yoga helps me to be a calmer, better person and a better mother" Jessica

Where does the word Yoga come from? Yoga originates from the Sanskrit Yuj or to Yoke meaning Union.  Yoga is union of the mind, body and spirit. Hatha Yoga or the physical form of yoga uses a series of postures that leads to sense of physical and emotional well being. Yoga is much more than postural alignment and breathing.

Yoga is an ancient holistic system that balances energy within our entire being. Yoga is a science not a religion. It is a science for finding out ‘who you are’. The practice of yoga is a process of self discovery, letting go of everything that isn’t you, becoming who you are, not better but realer.Yoga is self healing for the mind and body.

Hatha Yoga brings awareness to the mind and body though attention to breathing, postural alignment, relaxation and meditation.

As a practice Hatha Yoga recognizes individual differences and is very adaptable.  Yoga is suitable for everyone regardless if body type, strength or flexibility.  It can be gentle, relaxing, explorative, dynamic or energising.
